Yazıyaban’dan Çukurova’nın vernaküler mimarisine dair bir yazı: ‘‘Örgüye koştuğumuz bitkilerden ikisi; kargı ve saz. İtiraf etmeliyim ki beni onların derdine düşüren bitkilerin kendisinden çok huğ veya hu diye adlandırılan evler oldu. Daha doğrusu yerel dilde yumuşak g söylenirken yutulduğu için uzunca bir süre hu ev diye bildim bu ottan evlerin adını ama aslı huğ imiş.’’

An article from Yazıyaban on the vernacular architecture of Çukurova: ''Two of the plants we are running to weave; Reeds and Pumilas. I must confess that it was the houses called huğ or hu, rather than the plants themselves, that got me interested in them. To be more precise, for a long time I knew the name of these grass houses as hu house because it was swallowed while saying soft g in the local language, but it was actually huğ.''
