Üçürge Deresi Toroslar’ın suyunu Karaisalı ovasına taşıyor.
Üçürge Stream carries the water of the Taurus Mountains to the Karaisalı plain.

Akyatan’dan sonra Derenin çevresinde de sazlıklarla karşılaşıyoruz. Üçürge bu topraklarda bir yandan sularıyla taşıdığı hayat, bereketle hatırlanıyor. Öte yandan karlar eridikçe suların ayırdığı köyler, yarattığı taşkınlarla hatırlanıyor. Nergizlik barajının inşaatı ve dağlardan akarak dere ve onu besleyen su yollarının HES’ler tarafından tutulmasıyla Üçürge’nin suyu gittikçe azalmış. Kış sonu yaklaşırken incecik bir su akıyor dere yatağından. Bu haliyle bile bugün hala çevresindeki arazilerin bazılarına su sağlıyor. Öte yandan Kamış, Hasır Otu, ve Tatlıçim gibi bitkilere ve çeşitli yaban hayvanlarına ev sahipliği yapmayı sürdürüyor.
We also encounter reeds around the stream after Akyatan. On the one hand, Üçürge is remembered in these lands for the life and fertility it carries with its waters. On the other hand, the villages separated by the waters as the snow melts are remembered for the floods they caused. With the construction of the Nergizlik Dam, and the damming of the stream and the waterways that feed it by flowing through the mountains by the Hydroelectric Power Plants, the water of Üçürge has become less and less. As the end of winter approaches, a thin stream of water flows through the stream bed. Even in this state, it still provides water to some of the surrounding lands. On the other hand, it continues to host plants such as Arundo, Typha and Glyceria and various wild animals.
